the lyrics are true, but it's written in a way that would sound shocking if you are not focusing...anti-christian musician writes in a similar way...

i know eric's one very serious christian..

if you're saying an anti-christian musician writes in a similar way.. well. it's both right and wrong.

you see, eric's trying to portray the power of the antichrist in those songs. and he is powerful.. we can't deny that. on earth, his will shall be done. eric's trying to tell that in his music. and i think someone who's anti-christian might also portray the antichrist as a powerful person in that way.

however! the context is totally different. an anti-christian artist would try to glorify the antichrist in such a lyric.. eric isn't doing that at all. and that's obvious. because the legend series aren't some songs, it's one enormous piece of music. and if you listen to all of it, you realise that God's way bigger than the antichrist. he may be given power over the earth, but God still protects His church and will defeat him in the end.

you've got to remember that the legend series is meant as a "soundtrack to the end of the world". the end of the world isn't going to be a fun time, there's lots of darkness to it.. and in my opinion, eric's only being realistic by giving the despair that comes with it such a place in the piece. also, it's never the question who's going to win in the end. there's always this light shining in the darkness of God's presence.

& if you don't like it, by all means don't listen to it. =P

and about the look what does it mean ??

obviously the contrast between light and darkness, between death and the open door to eternal life with the Father..

saviour machine's not about just singing about something, but giving a show about something. they want to create a full picture instead of giving just music. so that's why eric's dressed up and uses lots of symbols on stage, to illustrate the things he's singing about.

Saviour Machine is quite interesting,
I am intruiged/intimidated by the looks too,
I rather listen to them than watch them,
although I do have the Live in Deutschland dvd
