a song i wrote today.

in a moment of despair, yet hope lives.

i put my personal feelings towards religion, churches, christians, nonbelievers, and life in it. it helped, it made me feel better.

prayers of the lost

i see man-like shapes descending
in a lake of liquid heat
behind the sea of glass i'm looking through
i notice my heart miss a beat

behind these blue walls lies silence
like the vastness of space
colourless and oh-so lonely
fading away, the human race

who will carry them home
the lost souls drowning in the ocean of existence
who will answer their prayers
softly whispered in the night

religion paved the way for us
and built us another ark
the faithul animals aboard of it
will survive the dark

but what about the left behind
in the raging storm
with nothing else to live for
they die the way they're born

all alone

surely there must be someone
watching over them
surely there is someone
who will hear their cries

won't you carry us home
our lost souls drowning in the ocean of existence
won't you answer our prayers
your voice ringing through the night

shattering the silence
tearing the dark apart
crippling the madness
breaking our hearts

I like it.
especially the last verses are well written.
