Depends on what kind of music you like the best... there's a huge difference bewteen the early and the later albums. These are the albums I've heard so far:
1981 - Faith: This is the reason The Cure got the lable 'gothic'. Slow, dark post-punk, which is absolutely great if you like bands as Bauhaus and Joy Division. My personal favourite.
1996 - Wild Mood Swings: Very jazzy. I didn't like it. Actually, I only listened to a couple of tracks before I couldn't stand it anymore - but then again I'm not a big fan of jazz, so there's a chance you might like it if you are.
2000 - Bloodflowers: Melancholic, but definately not gothic. Too many love sings for my taste, but overall it's good.
2004 - The Cure: I know of some hardcore The Cure-fans who hate this album for being so far from their original style. Personally, I think it's okay. Catchy pop/rock melodies, but it still has the remarkable vocal of Robert Smith, which is the most important thing.
