Something I'd like to say.

First of all, hello
I'm back from Antwerp and Balen
from 3 days of intense rehearsing and playing a gig.
I had an awesome time, pictures will come.

2nd, I'm a bit sad about some of the reactions I have read on some topics here.
I've taken my time to read them all and I will try to give a comment on the whole thing.

Sebat posted a very good thing, saying that there have been disagreements, but some people have overreacted,
this is and stays a messageboard, it's supposed to be fun and informative, but since it's the internet,
there ought to be some unavoidable missunderstandings.

Before I left I indeed asked to keep the topic of homosexuality/sexual preferences a bit down,
Not that we can't talk about it, but because I saw things like this coming.
It's a bit sad that this happened when I wasn't here, but OK, I'm glad Ann closed those topics.

Ash and others, don't be afraid, I won't ban anyone, every person is entitled to have an opinion,
and although some are a bit stubborn in them, they still have the choice to have one.

I will not unlock topics on sexual preferences at this point.
I would like to have a nice atmosphere again, I'm sure this is possible.

Even through our own opinions we should show that we can all live 'online' with eachother,
if you don't agree with something, and don't want to talk about it, then stay out of the discussion.
For everyones good.

so I did what he asked me, and I deleted him,
He got deleted out of his own free will,
not because of me who wanted to punish him.

You know, it is possible to love someone and disagree with them at the same time too.

Why people get offended because someone disagree's wiht you about something I'll never understand. haha..Even married people that have been together for a life time will find that they have opposing views on a whole bunch of topics. That doesn't mean they don't love each other,

I certainly hope people disagree with me about things here. Otherwise there'd be something terribly wrong.

I think deletion isn't a solution. It only creates distance between people, which doesn't really contributes to love either. Running away from conversation doesn't help understanding each other. Everyone should have the right to post his opinion here, and if that happens to be the opposite of someone else's opinion, so be it, but don't get mad. On the other hand, don't try to forcefeed the other your opinion. Matty said a very wise thing, that internet creates misunderstandings. You can interpret the posts of someone else totally wrong, because there's just words, not real emotion, intonation, things like that.

Well, I've kind of missed the discussion as well, I read it through, but I see no reason why people should get furious and leave...

Ash and Sebat: please don't take this personally. This was a very sensitive subject for Discipvlvs.

thread expressing my frustration... Talking in metaphors... Letlev made some
very clear points in that thread, and I guess I deserved (some of) those...
Nonetheless, the two of us made some kind of covenant: we both took guild of
a somewhat escalating discussion...
Once again, I bade not to have a discussion about the topic and I explained
why...

Then Lance (knowing how much the subject matters to me and trying to defend
a friend - which is sweet but was in this case the wrong thing to do) opened
a new thread giving his two cents... Once again my request was ignored...
Not only by Lance, also by Letlev and Sebat and later Skeezix...

I got angry and posted my third and final plea not to discuss... I called
upon our common Christianity, bade us to see behind disaggreements and
differences (notice I didn't make a single comment about the subject of
homosexuality and the way I see things in my own Christian perspective,
since I really wanted this not to be in our way) and tried to point out what
really matters among Christians where-ever and whenever...

Three times my request was ignored, both by pros and contras...

If you guys tell me you think homosexuality is pervers (which was said
litterally) I get hurt very much... If you say it's something devilish
(which was suggested upon) I am first stunned and then angered...
Still, this was not my reason to ask for deletion of my account...
My reason was, that among friends and brothers, I felt like the one who
doesn't need to be heard... Three times I asked something of you, three
times I was ingored...
The one thing that angers me most, is when I'm not taken seriously - not
heeded...
I think, if a brother asks something of you, which is really important to
him, you should hear... Instead, I felt like the one who didn't matter...
Whose feelings could be hurt...

You may not have meant it this way, but to me it was a very hurtful
experiance... More hurtful than the many a discussions have had about the
subject of homosexuality...

I hope I've made myself understood this time...

I guess he has a point but even if it is a sensitive subject, does that mean that just because he wants us to stop discussing it we should?

let's say, if my parents died today in a freak car crash or w/e, i wouldn't expect all of you to stop saying anything on the subject of death, sure it might hurt me a little but sometimes i think it's good to discuss the things you are uncomfortable with discussing.

I'm not saying anyone was wrong or right in doing what they did, i'm just pointing out that people discussing willn't be an attack upon anyone in particular, no matter how much it may seem like it.

I am also sad that Lancey has gone, now he will never be able to tel me if he bought them tea blends he said he would

Well..it's just an internet forum..if it is offensive in some way, it seems logical to me that you might want to leave. Although, it is sort of strange to do that when everybody likes you..

But yea, I still say it is a choice to be offended in a situation like that. You don't have to be.
