Sonata Arctica (not christian)

What is your opinion on the band Sonata Arctica? www.myspace.com/sonataarctica

It's some kind of melodic/power/prog metal with a lot of keyboard and male vocals. I love the music. The lyrics may be a little on the edge sometimes, but that comes from things as: It's a living hell, and things like that.
They have very beautiful metalballads and fast work ^^

I'm curious what you people think of it

I used to like them a lot,
but when I got into more extreme metal
I kind of left them.

one of the members is a christian btw,
and one of the ex-members plays in either Essence of Sorrow or Mehida if I remember correctly btw.

that doesn't have to say much. Someone in Nightwish says to be a catholic, and someone in Slayer claims to be a christian too.

About the member now playing in Mehida (which is a christian band):
It's Mikko Harkin : he used to play keys for Sonata Arctica
and is also a member of Random Eyes

I used to listen to Sonata Acrtica, and I believe I still have some of their songs on my computer yet I never listen to them anymore. Not my cup of tea anymore.

Personally I think SA is one band you should experience on CD. You have to see some bands to know what they are really like, but SA is more like stuff to listen to... You can't even headbang to those syncopic rhytms (not always but still)

I luv high vocals ^^ and grunts too, but this just fits better with their music.

Sonata Arcitica is one of my favorite bands. I don't think there's ever a time where I'm not in the mood to listen to My Land.

not one of my favourite power metal bands, some songs are ok.. dont like his voice the music really good
